Hey guys,
i was just thought i would ask you all for some advise on a laptop. i have decided recently that my orignal destop computer has gotten a bit old and is starting to slow down from the endless streams of porn and other such material taht gets downloaded to it so i have decided to save up my pennies and buy a new laptop. i figured u guys would be the ones to ask as i am not to keen on the idea of wasting my money. idealy i would want it to run good with games and to have a relitavely big screen. i have had a look around on the internet tbh i dont really understand a lot of the stuff.
just wondered if you guys had any feedback on some or have got one that u thinks works particularly well for u.
thanks again guys see ya online!

unless you need to take a laptop to school/work etc. I'd get a desktop.
You'll get a lot more power for your money and you can get as big a screen as you can afford.
How much money were you planning on spending?

Probably anything up to about 700-800 pounds. i thought laptop because (as i am a kid) i am not aloud to play it till like 3 am and with a laptop it would be much more risk free and easier to avoid being cought by my parents if i am on in the night.

<- cerftified computer specialist
- do not get an acer/jvc - for office, home use, hp, ibm is a good choice - for gaming (and in general), get a dell
u always pay a penny more for a dell, but u get insurance and a stable system. even if it plays silly buggers, u give them a ring and they take care of it. thumbs up for dell, big time. actually this is my 2nd dell gaming laptop. quality costs u know :/

My opinon of Dell is stay away, my laptop is a dell and I have had no end of problems since i got it, including 2 hard drives dying. The tech support people at dell are useless and all they seem to do is go down a check list and have no actual idea what is wrong.
I sent my laptop back to be fixed 4 times during my warentee which has now run out which in my opinion is too many times for a pre-built laptop from a so called "Quality" manufacturer.
Obviously thats just my experience and I may have been unfortunate, but I know for sure my money will never be going to Dell again.
Also, you shouldn't be looking to play til 3 am, don't lose your life to an mmo hehe

Toshiba laptop ranks in the top 3, I have bought my Satellite 5800 5-6 years ago, it is a bit slow compare to most laptops of today, but I can still play Guild Wars on it and it had not given me 1 day of problems.
Toshiba is top in my books, I too do not like Dell, they look plastic and maybe because that is what they are. In South Africa Dell support sucks, but I do not know how it is overseas. HP make great laptops but also their support sucks.
I have supplied clients with probably 20+ Toshiba laptops and only 2 had issues which had been resolved in 1 day.
But honestly, I will never again buy a laptop for games, you cannot upgrade it, within 1 year it will be out dated and will not be able to play the latest games. Also Laptops that you can play games with is highly overpriced, like 4x the price of a Desktop with higher specs.
Looking at the price of computers in UK, 700-800 is not a lot of money for a Gaming laptop. A decent one will probably cost more than that, but I am speaking under correction. In SA you can maybe get a decent business Laptop with Core 2 Duo and 2 Gig memory for 800 pounds.
Thats my 2 cents worth.
