Hi guys,
Last time we voted for a cape we ended up with a lot of different capes and not enough votes, so the winning capes only had like 4 to 5 votes. Now in a guild of 50+ members and only 5 really like it, doesn't say much about how good the cape is.
Luckily I am an analyst by trade so I worked out a way that might work a bit better this time. Sungar suggested that we rate the capes 1-10, but the forum doesn't have something that can do that and I don't feel like creating a Web Site that can do that.
So this is my suggestion and I am sure it will work:
We have 4 threads, one that show all the Capes each with a number and the other 3 will be voting threads. On the first you can vote for 5 different capes, second you can vote for 3 and the last you can vote for 1.
So you can cast 9 different votes and on 1 of the capes you can vote up to 3 times if you really like the cape. If only 10 people vote, we will have 90 votes, in the end we add up all the totals for each thread and that will give us the winner.
Also, I am not going to show the outcome of the votes until the voting ended, that way the votes cannot be manupulated and it will keep the anticipation up until the end result.
If anyone feel that there is a flaw with this voting method, please don't hesitate to post.
Thanks guys.

Hello, I would like to show you another method of voting. I thought you, vanished know such thing, but if not, I think you should give it a try. Weve made a opinion poll, that can have different answears made in scale. Its done on some polish poll-servise but it doesnt really matter, the point is, that its working with our requirements. Here is the link to 'demo version' www.ebadania.pl/f53bcfd2c923ac7d I dont feel like falsyfing score, but if you want Vanished, I can do account for cccp, that you will can log in and with little help through polish words check results.

Theorically it will work about the same, the capes you don't like will just not get a vote, instead of saying you don't like it. The ones you like a lot will get more votes. Yes it might be a pain to vote on 3 different threads, but it is not such a big problem.
We need to control who cast votes, on the forum the admin can see who casted votes, if those people are not CCCP members, we can remove the votes. It is hard enough to get people to register on the forum and vote, imagine if they have to register again on another website just to vote and we cannot speak polish.
To keep the voting on this forum, I think will be easier. But I do appreciate your suggestion.

its not like every person have to do account on that site. only one account is needed to create poll and see its results.
btw im sure there are some english sites ofer similar or same polls with adress to paste in forum.
and this poll was just demo, so you can create it in your own way, do more questions(for example wriote your nick name), more answeras (i like it! i dont! gtf out with that sh*t! ;p its uber mikro cccp! and many more) in one poll.
oh, and nobody can see that poll on any other sites. only you have the adress and can spread it between members, or here, where if i remember right only members can see posts.
anyways if you dont like it, thats okay, we wont be dissapointed or anything. just thought it would be easier to fill only one poll, not few.

HI Umbra,
Everyone can see these threads, so anyone can go in there and mess around cast votes yet they not in the guild. We have alliance members on the site that can even post and vote too, and we cannot block them. But what Dargan and myself will do is remove those votes that are from non CCCP members.
How do you prevent people from voting more than once on the other site, if they don't have a valid username and password that have been activated like on this forum. When you cast a vote on there, it save a cookie on your computer to say that you have voted, it is easy enough to either vote again from another computer or delete the cookies and vote over and over.
On this forum it is possible to see who as voted and if someone create another user they cannot vote until we set them as CCCP Members.
Let me ask this, what is the problem with my method, why use something different if it will work using 3 voting threads on here? I appreciate you suggesting a different voting site, but why if there are no faults with my idea?

Well it all gives me brain ache, but it sounds like it might work As I'm now the only one who's posted more than one design that is going to be voted on, it only seems fair that I only put forward one for the vote too. So if you keep black and silver snowflake for the vote and leave the other two out, then that would mean there are only 6 cape options to vote between (nimrod's, mine, tak's, silverwinds' splinter's & status quo). I don't know if this makes any difference regarding how complex the voting needs to be? I'll leave it to you professionals to decide ;D

Sydney, I like 2 of your capes, why not leave the others in for voting. If we only have 6 capes then voting for 5 in the first thread might be a bit much.
Up to you, once we know how many capes we have we can work out something that can work.
