Alrighty boys and girls,
Time for another event. We still have no suggestions for this event, so please reply here as to what you would like to do. Will also help to specify the minimum requirements to do the event and the time it will take.
Arv suggested Kathandrax the dungeon. He might post more information about that soon.
Please confirm your participation to the event by replying here with the professions you can use.
Thank you

I definately wont be any use this Sunday.

Last thing you want is a drunk ranger on adungeon run hehe
I will add that Pain Inverter is a must have for the end boss in Kathandrax

ok, Catacombs of Kathandrax is a lot of fun and some very valuable drops can be found there. It has 3 levels. It's location is a pain, because it's in the far southeast of Sacnoth Valley. if any guildies don't have it yet, that's not much of a problem, since we all have to run there from doomlore shrine anyway. Just don't be hasty. The entrance is in the middle of a burning forest swarming with fire elementals and a boss that can make short work of us even before entering the dungeon if we don't coordinate and pull them. Beware that some hard quests take place in this forest, like "The Smell of Titan in the Morning" and "Fire and Pain" - so if you have any or both of them, please finish or abandon them before getting there or else it will be a crowded and deadly forest, lol. The dungeon itself isn't very hard if done correctly. Burning is a nearly constant problem in this dungeon. Extinguish and Breath of the Great Dwarf are effective remedies; Light of Deliverance is very useful for party-wide healing due to degeneration. Taking interrupts, knockdowns and spell silencing is useful. Like morgan said, Pain Inverter can REALLY make the boss much easier (there's even a strategy where you can cast it on the boss and run into a boulder and let him nuke himself). He has a hilarious skill that replaces your weapon with a bomb that goes off in 5 secs and does AoE, so stay focused and run away from party members, drop it and run away, lol. What else? Ah! - This is a dungeon, so bring your dungeon books - killing Flame Guardians disables the traps - DO NOT attack the becalmed djinns or all hell will brake loose. - The burning boulders in the end kill you instantly but don't give you a death penalty. A very good guide to the dungeon is here: guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Catacombs_of_KathandraxThe flame djinn is very hard, so here's a guide just for him: guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Flame_DjinnBeware that the Flame Djinn IS NOT the boss. Ok, this is just a suggestion. I'm up for anything you guys may want to do.

Guys, I'm going to give this event a pass. I really want that Dungeon, but I'm just not in the mood to play. I think I will rather just relax and watch a movie with my girl and get to bed early. Need to be up early again for Gym.
Enjoy the event, hope you have a lot of people that pitch up.

Yeah i should be able to make it, no problem. The only char i have that far in EotN is my monk, but i guess you wont loose any sleep over that xD. If theres a particular build you'd like me to run i can... otherwise im sure i can come up with something :)

- Ok, only 2 people replied to this confirming their presence.
- There is a rule now that only people who confirm their participation on the forum thread can participate
- There was no event

Hmm . This seems a little silly. Several of us were there for the event last night, but we didn't do it because Arv never showed up! I'm not sure how this 'new rule' actually helps us have fun together?

The idea was that people will actually use the forum to confirm that they will participate. How difficult is it to just reply and say I will be there.
Doubt people realize how difficult it is and how long it takes to get a group ready for a difficult event if you don't even know who will show up, nevermind what profession they will use.
If I was on last night I would have asked the people that showed up why they didn't confirm on the forum and find out why they don't use the forum to coordinate the event. But I couldn't be online.
Btw, it wasn't so much a rule just a suggestion to see if people will actually take the time to respond to the event thread on the forum.
Might as well scrap that idea as people don't bother to read the announcements never mind log onto the forum.
